About this church - its core beliefs:
The Salvation Army is a worldwide evangelical Christian church and human service agency. Its message is based on the Bible; its motivation is the love of God as revealed in Jesus Christ. Its mission is to proclaim his gospel, to persuade people of all ages to become his disciples and to engage in a programme of practical concern for the needs of humanity. Its ministry is offered to all persons, regardless of race, creed, colour or gender. We are a Christian Church with our heart to God and hand to man which inspires us to help all people. |
The Salvation Army is currently undergoing major works, involving a complete refurbishment of the old Hall. Our building is to be transformed into a suite of rooms with two separate halls and a wonderfully equipped kitchen as well as new office space, toilets and most importantly access for anyone who is disabled. We are especially looking forward to our new enclosed landscaped garden which will give many opportunities for church BBQ's during the long hot summers (well we can hope!) and it will prove an ideal place for the 'Monday Toybox' children to have a safe outdoor play area.
While these renovations are taking place, we are meeting together for worship in St Aidan's Hall, (still in Church Street). |
